Registered Therapeutic Counsellor
Welcome to my private practice! As a counselor, I am deeply passionate and committed to helping people grow, heal, and transform. As someone who has always felt a calling to help others move past their challenges, it is a great honor for me to be able to hold space for you during a time when you may feel that you want something different to happen in your life and are seeking support to make that a reality. I believe that through self-awareness and allowing feelings to have space in a safe place, anyone is capable of healing and living a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling for them.

My approach to counseling is very much about creating self-awareness and connecting these pieces of self to your current struggle, whether that be working through past traumas, navigating difficult life transitions, or simply seeking personal growth. To do this, we will explore many concepts related to the mind-body connection and how trauma can be stored in the body (or nervous system), as well as how the family system and generations of trauma can be passed down to you; all of which could be contributing to the personal challenges you are facing now. In addition to this, I will also draw on other modalities related to Internal Family Systems (parts work), inner child, attachment theory, experiential work, and relational psychology. Together, these approaches can provide different perspectives on how to achieve the same result: empowering you to make the changes you want in your life and helping you step into feeling more like 'you' again (or maybe for the first time).

I look forward to getting to know you!
Let go of the fear of change and embrace the unknown. That is where true growth happens.

My Approach
Connect
My number one priority in our first few sessions together is getting to know you, your story, and your struggle. I want to make sure we create a safe space and nurturing environment together, where we can dive into all the beautiful things that make you YOU.

Explore
Together, we will delve into your family history, past experiences, and current challenges to discover what factors are impacting you now and where they may stem from. During this time, we will slow down to sit with the sensations, feelings and thoughts that may arise while we explore connections and patterns that are coming up for you.

To make the most of therapy, it is important to carry the work with you beyond our sessions. Generally this will look like taking small steps daily towards your goals and allowing yourself to be uncomfortable while doing this. Real change happens when you consistently practice new behaviour, reflect on your progress, and challenge yourself to do something outside of your comfort zone.

Put in the Time
Celebrate your wins! It takes time to feel and see changes in yourself, so I believe it's important to pause and acknowledge those small (and big!) steps in the right direction. Here, we can focus on your growth throughout our sessions together, highlight the changes you've made and help you truly appreciate all that you've accomplished so far. At this point, we can determine if you are happy with where you are at or if you'd like to take therapy in a new direction.

Moving Forward
